FIRESTEEL CREEK Jay Trumm, Jess Rogers, Scott Morgan, Monte Knippling 12-31-1987 Lips Lounge Miller SD SPECTRUM BAND Dave Huntley, Monte Knippling, Danny Winsell August 18, 1988 Legion Hall Miller SD
The days where we went to gigs in our cars, tiny pa systems that sucked, no lights, bad sound and worse luck at times... SPECTRUM was my first band that I booked and managed. A lot of learning and travel was just the beginning. Soon I would up the bar and jump into an established road band with FUBAR...

FUBAR Tom Rainbeau, Frank Dakotah and Monte Knippling, March 19, 1991 Landing Bar Minot ND BACK TRAX Dan Kruechel, Dee Gabriel, Bruce Rath, Monte Knippling January 21, 1993 Time Out Strasburg ND
Three years on the road with FUBAR was like band College. To adapt to that pace was the honing process that set the stage for the future... BACK TRAX was a shortlived band in the greater Bismarck area that gigged regularly. It was a great experience in that we did totally different material than I was used to doing. AMBUSH was a transition band as well, lasting only three months before RAVENS MOON came to be...

The original RAVENS MOON BAND Monte Knippling, Dennis Pesicka, Tom Keller circa 1993 RAVENS MOON Monte Knippling, Mike Rugg, Tom Sailer, Dennis Pesicka circa 1994
Real PA gear and talented musicians got the band off the ground, and dedication kept it going. Some really difficult times touring and great gigs...
Going to four piece from three piece doubled our PA and show, but money didn't grow in proportion, and caused grief within the band. Soon the show folded...

RAVENS MOON Monte Knippling, Russell Obego, Gary Antoine opening act Toby Keith Show September 7, 1996 Lode Star Casino Fort Thompson SD Circa 2004 Ravens Moon Band Vic Nemec, Monte Knippling and Neil Anthony.
Our first big show, the stage was huge and the PA was even more huge! It was the first time I heard a good monitor system and it was louder than my entire PA system all by itself... After stints with Hocus Pocus, Stiff Richard, and Midnite Hiway today's lineup is the best ever, and the show features a selection of the best music ever paired with world-class sound and lighting.  The result is a polished and professional band from central South Dakota: RAVENS MOON
